How Mantra24net came about
-
"...if we all recite this mantra number together,

so each individual receives the benefit of the entire number..."
(Quote from a Dharma teaching by Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche on meditation)From this perspective, this non-stop online mantra counter was created for practitioners and meditators worldwide—a LIVE COUNTER for long-term accumulation.
Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche himself was the first user and opened this counter with some of his manis.

How do I use the counter?
- With this app, you can submit, count, and accumulate totals for your various practices or mantras.
After logging in, you land directly on the mantra entry form entry form. - The first field is a "Type of Accumulation" drop-down menu.
Here, I select "Meditation" for my formal practice
or "Accumulation on the go" for mantras recited while walking, circumambulating a stupa, at a bus stop, on a train or plane, in waiting rooms, etc. - In the second field—a "Mantra Type" drop-down menu—I select my specific practice (available mantras see FAQ further down).
If your practice is missing from the drop-down menu, simply contact us via the contact form, and we will add it. - In the third field, I enter the number of mantras (e.g., enter 108 for 1 mala).
- In the fourth field, I confirm the count (to prevent submission errors due to typos).
Then, click "Submit Mantras".
A confirmation immediately appears below, indicating the entry was successful and added to your database.
You will also see two links: "Enter more mantras" or a "myMantras" link that lets you view and print a list of all the mantras you have ever recited.
If, for example, you are currently practicing Ngöndro, you can submit the four associated accumulations separately and then view an up-to-date summary of your Ngöndro progress under "myMantras".
Once the app registers the four sets of 100,000 accumulations, a new line labeled "Completed Ngöndros" is added.
A second or even third completed Ngöndro will then appear there, indicated by the number 2, 3, etc.
What do I do with the mantras I have already accumulated?
- You have been practicing for a while—what happens to the mantras accumulated up to that point?
- No problem: the first mantra entry for any practice should be submitted as the total count of mantras you have recited to date.
This full amount is then added to both your personal and the collective accumulation, and is dedicated accordingly. - From the second entry onwards, simply continue with the daily mantras from your practice or from an ongoing meditation event (e.g., evening meditation at your center, accumulations during courses, etc.).
